The principal images are from Julie Green's Izdubar/Gilgamesh drawings, with photomontage sequences derived from recent satellite survey charts of the region and earlier cartographies selected and arranged as overlays and superimpositions by Nicholas Pounder. The papers used in the making of this book are Saint-Armand (cotton, sisal, linen and flax straw), Velin d'Arches (pure cotton), and various vintage ko zo (mulberry). The inks are pigment-based and archivally stable. Housed in a folding case.

This volume exists in an edition of five copies only with printing design and construction by Nicholas Pounder at Polar Bear Press, as a record of inspiration and progress in the creation of works by Julie Green.

Introductory note by Ira Spar. Text fragments are taken from George Smith's Assyrian Discoveries (1875) and The Chaldean Account of Genesis (1876).
